Colonie Little League offers Travel Baseball for 7U through 12U during the Fall and Spring Seasons.
Rules and Age Cut Off:
Colonie Travel participates in the Empire State Baseball League (ESBL), which follows Cal Ripken Rules instead of Little League Rules. This means game rules may differ from Rec Game rules. Additionally, the age cut off for Cal Ripken is based on your child's age on May 1st. This is different from Little League's age cut off date of August 31st. For this reason, kids born after May 1st but before August 31st will be a different playing age for travel than they are for their Little League Rec.
Spring Seasons (April - June)
Tryouts for the Spring Season are typically held in September prior to the season start. Games can be held on Fridays and Sundays. Players must also participate on a Colonie Little League Rec Team during the Spring season. Rec games are not scheduled on Friday's or Sunday's to prevent any chance of overlap. During home games, families are required to volunteer at the concession during their child's game on a rotating schedule with other player families. This helps to cover operating costs that incur during a game.
The cost to be on the team is determined by the team manager, and varies by team. Fundraising may be done prior to or during the season to offset the costs.
Fall Seasons (September - October)
Tryouts for the Fall Season are typically held in August prior to the season start. Games are held on Sundays. Players do NOT need to participate on a Colonie Little League Rec Team during the Fall season. During home games, families are required to volunteer at the concession during their child's game on a rotating schedule with other player families. This helps to cover operating costs that incur during a game.
