2024-2025 Travel Tryouts

We will be holding tryouts for Colonie Travel Baseball on July 28th. We are moving from a Spring-Fall season to a Fall-Spring Season.
Everything is starting fresh this fall so you must attend your age appropriate tryout to play the 2024-2025 Travel Season.

Interested Coaches/ Current Coaches Meeting will be held on 7/20 @ 9:00 AM
-This meeting will discuss changes to the upcoming season, new coaching opportunities and responsibility/expectations of a Coaching staff.

Players must try out with the age group that they fall in based on the updated travel age chart for our upcoming season.

Copies of birth certificates will be required to be obtained by each team manager in the event the team enters any tournaments where those must be presented.

Youngest and Oldest birth date allowed for each division is also listed next to the tryout time/location.

Check in 15-30 minutes prior to your start time
10U- 9:00 Majors
9U- 10:30 Majors
8U- 9:30 International
7U- 11:00 International
11U- 12:00 Majors
12U- 1:30 Majors

For those who are unable to attend player tryouts please reach out to [email protected]. You will still be required to Register for tryouts. Player would be evaluated on previous performance throughout prior seasons

2024 Fall Recreational Baseball Registration

2024 Fall Season at Colonie Little League

Our Fall Season at Colonie Little League begins August 18th and will conclude by September 29th. Players will have games on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings until Labor Day and then only on Sunday mornings.

There are two available levels of play.
  • Coach Pitch (ages 5, 6, and 7) helps players get comfortable with the coach pitching. This level of play is recommended for players who participated in T-Ball in the Spring or their first year of Jr Pee Wee.
  • Coach/Kid Hybrid (ages 7, 8, and 9) helps players get comfortable with a player (kid) pitcher and occasional coach pitching when needed. For a 7-year-old player, please select the gameplay that best aligns with their ability and previous experiences. This level of play is recommended for players ready to move up or already participating in Pee Wee during the Spring.

A child's age for Little League this season is determined by how old the child is on August 31, 2024.

Colonie Little League Levels of Play

Colonie Little League is divided into divisions based on your child's age. However, when necessary, your child's ability is also taken into account. Please contact the Colonie Little League Players Agent if you have questions about the appropriate division for your child.

Tee BallAge 4-5Kids who turn 4 during
May, June or July are eligible.

Players will learn the fundamentals of hitting, fielding and teamwork.

Junior Pee WeeAge 6-7Age 5 or 8 possible,
based on ability

Players will learn to hit a coach pitched baseball and learn to make defensive outs on the bases. 

 Pee WeeAge 8-9Age 7 possible,
based on ability
Players will learn the fundamentals of pitching, hitting a ball pitched by a peer, and begin learning more of the essential rules of baseball. 

 International Age 9-11 
Players will expand their knowledge of baseball and apply their skills to fielding situations while hitting exclusively off other players and begin to steal bases. 

MajorsAge 10-12Eligibility based on
Majors Try Out 
The field expands to 70 ft base path and 50 ft pitching mound. This provides players with a transition between previously used Little League field size and the Junior/Senior field size seen in High School baseball. Leading can now occur and the drop third strike rule now applies.

ChallengersAge 5-18Requests can be made for individuals older than 18.

Children with disabilities that keep them from participating in other Little League Programs with have the opportunity to participate in baseball activities. Buddies help support kids on the field.
